10,000 B.C

Thousands and thousands of years ago, lived a tribe of mammoth hunters. D'leh was among these people, and he rose to be one of the top warriors of the tribe. He falls for a beautiful woman that too belonged in the tribe – the fragile Evolet.

Evolet and many others are kidnapped into slavery one night by warlords on horses, and their destination is quite unknown. D'leh cannot let this happen to them, and he sets out on a dangerous journey to free his people, and get back the love of his life, Evolet.

Along D'leh's journey, he comes face to face with the Sabre tooth monster. He thinks he must fight and defeat the massive cat, but finds it drowning in a hole. He saves the cat, and the cat leaves him be.

Also along his journey, he finds more and more tribes whom he befriends, and bands them together to fight the warlords as one unit. Each of them have missing family members that have been taken by the warlords, and they're all willing to fight for each other.

They finally find out where their loved ones have been taken: to an empire in which they must build through slave work. The warlords answer to a high priest, and their resistance may be more dangerous than they ever though.

I did my best to watch this movie with an open mind and put a blind eye to historical inaccuracies. I think doing this made me appreciate the movie a lot more. It did have a great story in my opinion, and my favorite part was when all the different tribes banded together in one cause. I thought the love story was very romantic, and I thought the scenery in this movie was fantastic.

The only thing I did not like about the movie was the way they handled the languages. I do understand that they couldn't do a whole movie in subtitles, but not everyone in the world speaks English, and for some reason all the tribe people had these weird accents to make them sound like they were from a time far away from our own. I didn't understand their strange accents. I felt that this was the only thing that really took away from the story. But other than that, I really liked it. I want to know what you thought of it too! This movie was a great legend brought to life. Put aside any sense of historical accuracy, and watch this movie with an open mind – I believe this is the best way to appreciate it.
